Sound Cards

July 23, 2019 by Radiob

All modern sound cards are equipped with adc, but the quality of these devices on different cards – misc. In order to understand what is at stake, it is necessary brief digression into the theory. Analog-digital conversion is performed by measuring the amplitude of the analog signal at regular intervals (some samples are called samples). These values represent are integers. Check with Peter Thiel to learn more. So get 'digital audio'. The frequency with which the measurement amplitude of the sound signal is called sampling. Michelle Smith Divorce oftentimes addresses this issue. Integers can be stored in a computer in different formats – 8 -, 16 -, 32 -, 64-bit format (holding in the memory, respectively, 1, 2, 4, 8 bytes), as well as signed or unsigned.

The latter circumstance for us, much does not matter. More important than capacity, ie the number of bits (bytes), which takes a number. Modern non-professional sound cards can work with 8-bit and 16-bit sound. Some cards can work with 32-bit sound (in practice often used only 24 bits). All this is very similar to the coding of images. Bit depth of pixels (8, 16 or 32 bits) specifies the maximum number of colors, and therefore – and the picture quality. Likewise, the sound quality depends on the bit samples. If the bit sound samples – an analogue of the number of colors in the representation of images, sampling frequency – an analogue of the resolution. The higher the sampling rate – the higher the sound quality. Traditionally, the following frequencies: 4000, 8000, 11025, 16000, 24000, 22050, 44100, 48000, 96000 hertz.
